Agricultural Chains
With our in-house SOCOM brand having a proven track record of more than 30 years in the Australian agriculture sector, that makes Sprockets Australia your first choice for an agricultural chain provider. We hold a wide variety of chains and attachments in stock ready for deployment as well as offering bespoke manufacturing services.
Whether it’s for a conveyor system, manure spreader, seeders and planters, grain handling systems or tillage equipment, choosing the correct chain is essential to maximise the longevity of your chain, limit breakages and downtime, and maximise your return on investment (ROI). At Sprockets Australia, our experts can advise you on the best solution to fit your agricultural application and swiftly dispatch orders, with our range including detachable chains, malleable pintle chains, steel pintle chains and our MR roller series.
Our range of detachable chains are available in two main types, Malleable detachable chains and Pressed Steel detachable chains. Malleable detachable chains are made from cast iron that has been heat-treated to increase its strength, giving chains a good balance between strength and flexibility. In practice, this should offer good resistance to shock loads and deformation. Alternatively, a pressed steel detachable chain, with high tensile strength and durability, will withstand heavy loads and challenging agricultural conditions.
We also supply malleable pintle chains as well as steel pintle chains, which are stocked in significant quantities in our Melbourne warehouse. A malleable pintle chain can be used for applications such as conveying systems where the ability to withstand shock loads and deformation without breaking is important. Malleable iron is generally less expensive than high strength steels, making a malleable pintle chain a cost-effective choice for applications where the slightly lower strength is acceptable. Alternatively, for the most demanding applications, steel pintle chains are made from carbon or alloy steels, chosen for its strength, toughness, and wear resistance. Our experienced advisors can help you pick the right chain for your worksite.
Rounding out the range of agricultural chains is our MR roller series chains. These are zinc plated, for use in agricultural applications where corrosion resistance is crucial. This can include outdoor use; fertiliser application, where zinc plating provides a layer of protection against chemical-induced corrosion; livestock environments; coastal areas; or for general extended equipment life, whatever the application.
